Overseeing and managing the sound recording, production and mastering of a performer’s music – ranging from recording a single song to an entire album – my role during the recording process encompass gathering musical ideas for your project, collaborating with artists in selecting which piece to record, and working to help them to improve their songs, lyrics and arrangements.
Martyn can also help in the selection of session musicians, and assist with the song writing and editing process. Finally, Martyn can bring his years of experience to the mastering process, to ensure your tracks have the sonic qualities to stand out.

Currently being revamped in East Sussex, the analogue synths are being spruced up and the classic outboard re-instated. Some nice new microphones and room-corrected ADAM A77x join the equipment list. Lots of software … The desk and Otari 24-track has gone but the Ampex ATR is to be wheeled in imminently.

A Sync Music license allows you to use Martyn’s music in a specific piece such as a movie, video game or commercial, at a fixed-fee for one-time use. The cost will be dependent on the prominence of the piece, how it will be used, how much of the song will be used in the piece, and whether the piece will be used in its original form, or be covered by another artist.
All of Martyn’s releases have been thoroughly meta-tagged for iTunes, SoundMiner and other users, and feature a wide variety of alternate mixes, stems and sound design elements, to give your editors as much flexibility as possible. M-Path Band
Mpath are a three-piece band from three nations, two singers singing songs of duality and unity. The band consists of London record producer Martyn Phillips, New Zealand singer-songwriter Mathew James White & German drummer Philipp Renz, and draws on influences such as Calexico, Elvis Costello & Neil Finn to craft their blend of alternative Rock / Folk / Pop. Using guitar technology, the live sound is highly dynamic; from intimate acoustic to full-blown production that gives the impression that there are at least two more on stage.

The band’s conception dates back to when Martyn & Mathew met in London in 1999. It was during that time that they penned their first song. They continued to write and record, getting together with Philipp in 2007 to release the EP ‘Semi Naked’ and start touring. Further releases have been the single ‘(Who Will Get the) Marvin Gaye’ in 2008, the albums ‘Gravity’ in 2009, ‘Elevate’ in 2010 & ‘Life of Learning’ in 2016.
